Kim Kardashian’s Three Wedding Dresses – The Good, The Bad, The Ugly? Or The Bad, The Good,The Ugly – What Do YOU Think?
When it comes to critiquing wedding dresses, we Magpies would always rather take the high road. We are firm believers (most of the time) that all brides look beautiful. Normally, we Magpies would never say anything negative about a bride to put a damper on her happy occasion. However, we’ve decided that since we are such avid fans of reality shows (Keeping up with the Kardashians is a definite fave) and also fans of Vera Wang’s simplistic gowns and fresh look, we have a duty to reflect upon the mistakes of Kim’s selections (three?…really??) and Wang’s creations (whose knock-offs will be coming soon to a store near you) for her famous client. We all agree that Kim’s a really attractive girl and she obviously looked very pretty on her wedding day. But did she look her absolute best and did any of her three dresses(!) impress us? We think not…
Her first first dress (The Bad), a poofy crinoline dress with a sweetheart neckline and lace bodice, was not the most flattering for Kim. It seemed short-waisted and the top of the dress did not seem to fit her chest and pulled away from her body. The skirt seemed way too full and juvenile for a 30-year-old bride and we would have liked to seen more glitz on the dress and less on her headdress (a waste of two million dollars in diamonds!)
Her first change up (The Good) was a mermaid dress (which seemed more age appropriate and dramatic). But the dress was so fitted it seemed like a dumb choice to be the gown for dancing the first dance!
This dress could have had a little more pizzazz (lace-wise and sparkle-wise) to make it more special. The fit on top was better, but the tight fit of the dress made her look too curvy – not the most flattering (we have to blame Vera)! She looked fine, but not what we had expected from a reality fashion plate.
Her last dress (sorry Kim,…the Ugly) was her third and final change. It was supposed to look old-Hollywood glamour (think Greta Garbo or Marilyn Monroe) but it just looked like a slinky lingerie-type nightgown. This could have been an okay look, but it seemed too loose ( her top runneth over) and if it fit better it would’ve looked more couture and less Frederick’s of Hollywood! Kim is certainly a beautiful girl and since she does make a ton of money from her reality empire, she could’ve worn just about anything and looked faboosh. So what does this say about Kim Kardashian’s fashion taste? She had three chances to design the perfect wedding dress (a lucky option if you’re a bazillionaire who can’t make a decision…), yet she managed to strike out. What do you think, Magpies?
