Dior’s Extase Mascara – Don’t Leave Home Without It!

The crew at Harriet Magpie is forever looking for that magic mascara that will lengthen and volumize our lashes without the clumping and hassle. We’ve tried every mascara on the market – and we seem to always go back to Dior as the gold standard for mascaras. So it’s not surprising that we were willing to shell out 28 bucks for the chance to create beautiful, full, natural-looking lashes. Since we all seem to have different needs when it comes to beautifying our eyes, it’s amazing that we all really loved Dior’s brand new (just in the stores!) Extase Mascara. It’s very different from other mascara formulas – it has a wet, thick (but not gooey) consistency, yet goes on very smooth and even. Its wand is a tiered brush with a pointy tip, so when you get the hang of it you can even distribute color between each lash, and it will look as though you’ve lined your eyes with a deep black liner! However, the most unusual characteristic of this new mascara is that even the Magpies who have really sucky lashes were impressed with it after just one coat!  Quite honestly, if you have decent lashes, just about any mascara will give you that va-va-voom look. However, not every mascara works on wimpy lashes. We Magpies (well, those with desperately challenged lashes) were amazed at the difference Extase Mascara made compared to the other twenty miracle mascaras that we’ve recently bought. We totally recommend Dior’s Extase Mascara if you are still searching  for that one special mascara that will plump up and elongate your skinny-girl lashes to new lengths. We think Dior has a real winner with this one, and just between us – we won’t leave home without it.
