Worishofers – These Shoes Were Made for Walkin’!

We can’t count how many times a Magpie complains about her aching feet.  When you live in the city, walking is your life (next to cabs) – so when your feet conk out, so does your wallet. That’s why it was really fun to see that many people (from downtown hipsters to celebrity hipsters, i.e. Michelle Williams, Kirsten Dunst etc., with whom anything non-cool is instantly trés cool) have been sporting these frumpy looking sandals around town and, on top of being über trendy, are finding its making their feet very happy.  Worishofers (pronounced wer-shif-ers), can be purchased online at shopolivine.com and in NYC at Tip Top Shoes (at W. 72nd St. between Broadway and Columbus) which has carried Worishofers for the last 20 years.  The owner, Danny Wasserman, told the NY Daily News that he sells “30 to 34 pairs every six days” and that he has to order more to “restock every week, sometimes twice a week” to keep up with demand! We Magpies purchased a pair of these sandals recently, and we must agree, they are ugly (hehe)! But more importantly, our aching feet aren’t aching after traipsing around the city. But don’t just take our word for it, go try out a pair of these comfy sandals for yourself… your feet will thank you for it!
